This 18th century Queen Anne cabinet on chest is constructed from warm brown walnut with matching veneers, crossbanded borders, and herringbone inlay. The two-part piece stands 161 cm high, 104 cm wide, and 54 cm deep, separating into an upper section with double doors and a lower base. The lower section incorporates four graduated drawers fitted with brass drop handles and escutcheons, all raised upon shaped bracket feet. In a modern interior, this traditional English country house storage item suits a bedroom, living room, or hallway. The natural wood grain shows decorative bookmatched patterns on the upper cupboard doors. The brass hardware provides functional pulls and keyholes across the drawer fronts, while the moulded cornice crowns the top of the upper cabinet.

A cabinet on chest, developed during the Queen Anne period in the early eighteenth century, is a two-part furniture piece featuring an upper double-door cupboard positioned over a lower chest of drawers.

These pieces are predominantly constructed using walnut or burr walnut veneers laid over oak or pine carcass timber, accented with hand-cast brass drop handles and herringbone or feather crossbanding.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak drawer linings with grain running from front to back, original oak backboards, and period brass hardware displaying natural surface patination.

Position the cabinet against a neutral or dark painted wall in a hallway, bedroom, or dining room, allowing the figuration of the walnut veneer to contrast with contemporary minimalist textiles and modern lighting.

Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage or veneer lift, and clean periodically using pure beeswax polish applied with a soft cotton cloth.
