Royal Worcester has a long tradition of hand-painted porcelain, particularly renowned for its detailed fruit and botanical designs executed by specialist artists from the late 19th century onwards.

These items are crafted from fine bone china or porcelain, hand-painted with mineral colours over a glazed white surface, and frequently highlighted with elaborate raised gilding.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining the printed or painted backstamps on the base, the quality of the brushwork, and the precision of the gilding, which indicate the period of manufacture.

Place the piece on a flat surface such as a mantelpiece or sideboard where its intricate details and rich colours can be appreciated as a focal point against a neutral backdrop.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid using chemical cleaners or immersing the piece in water, especially if it features delicate gilt highlights.
