A magnificent late Victorian shell cameo brooch, finely hand-carved with the figure of Nike, the Greek goddess of Victory.

This exceptionally large cameo, measuring an impressive 8cm x 5cm (3" x 2"), depicts Nike in flowing classical robes, executed with remarkable detail and artistry. The warm-toned shell is mounted in a 9ct gold frame embellished with graceful scrollwork. A safety chain offers added security when worn.

A striking and evocative piece, this antique brooch makes a powerful statement and is ideal for collectors of classical or mythological jewellery.
