The Edwardian period spans from the accession of King Edward VII in 1901 to the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, characterised by lighter, more refined designs that often drew inspiration from earlier eighteenth-century aesthetics.

Antique scent bottles frequently combined hand-blown or moulded glass with sterling silver collars and hinged lids, often featuring ornate repousse or chased ornamentation.

Authentic pieces typically feature British silver hallmarks stamped on the metal mount, indicating the assay office, standard of silver, and date letter corresponding to the Edwardian period.

These compact items function effectively as decorative objects when displayed on a dressing table tray, mantelpiece, or open shelving unit alongside other small curated artefacts.

Glass can be cleaned gently with warm soapy water, while silver mounts require specialized non-abrasive polish applied sparingly to avoid damaging the surrounding material or historic patina.
