Early 20th-century art glass is characterised by a shift towards lighter, more refined forms, often influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement or Art Nouveau aesthetics, focusing on craftsmanship and subtle surface decoration.

Antique drinking vessels were predominantly produced using lead crystal or soda-lime glass, often hand-blown and hand-finished with techniques such as wheel-engraving or acid-etching.

Authentication relies on examining pontil marks, minor surface imperfections indicative of hand-blown production, weight, ringing tone, and historical maker signatures or stylistic attribution.

Antique glass can be displayed openly within glass-fronted cabinets, used on dining tables for special occasions, or styled on sideboards to introduce historical texture and refined elegance to modern spaces.

Antique glass should be hand-washed gently in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive sponges, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth.
