Bohemian glass from the 19th century is characterised by heavy crystal, vibrant stained colours such as amber and ruby, and intricate wheel-cut or etched architectural and landscape motifs.

Craftsmen typically utilised mouth-blown lead crystal combined with deep facet cutting, hand-etching, and sometimes flashing or staining techniques to achieve contrasting opaque white designs against coloured glass.

Authentic pieces often feature finely detailed, acid-etched or wheel-engraved depictions of specific European landmarks, accompanied by ground glass stoppers and wear consistent with age on the polished base.

These decorative objects can be displayed in collections on open shelving, placed on mirrored vanity trays, or used to catch light on windowsills to highlight their colour and craftsmanship.

Clean antique glass gently using lukewarm water and mild soap with a soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers, and immersion in hot water to prevent thermal shock and damage.
