George III design spans the latter half of the 18th century and is characterised by classical symmetry, refined proportions, and neoclassical influences derived from archaeological discoveries of the period.

Candlesticks from this era were predominantly cast in brass using multi-part sand-casting or lost-wax techniques, often featuring heavy bases for stability and removable bobeches to catch wax drippings.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit casting seams, varying wall thicknesses, characteristic tool marks from lathe finishing, and natural patination such as minor oxidation or verdigris in recesses.

They can be integrated into contemporary schemes by placing them symmetrically on a mantelpiece or dining table to add metallic warmth and historical contrast to minimalist surfaces.

Preservation involves dusting with a soft dry cloth and avoiding aggressive chemical polishes that strip the historical patina, retaining the aged surface character valued by collectors.
