This decorative bowl originates from the Art Deco period and takes the form of a circular glass vessel with opalescent blue tones. The interior decoration comprises three relief-moulded morning glory flower heads with delicate radiating petals, and the carved stems extend downward to form three feet on the underside. A wheel-cut signature reading R LALIQUE FRANCE appears adjacent to one flower, accompanied by an engraved catalogue number, while the translucent rim and curved profile complete the piece. Practical dimensions measure 5.7 cm high and 21 cm wide. Suitable for modern interior settings, this piece sits well upon a dining table sideboard top or within a display cabinet as an ornamental accent. The glass catches the light to highlight the opalescent blue coloration and the intricate texture of the flower heads. Maintenance involves careful dusting with a soft cloth to preserve the surface finish.

Rene Lalique began producing moulded art glass in the early 20th century, becoming a central figure in the Art Deco movement through his signature use of opalescent treatments and botanical relief patterns.

Opalescent glass was produced by adding chemical agents such as bone ash or cryolite to the glass batch, followed by selective reheating to induce controlled crystallization and light refraction.

Authentic pieces feature wheel-cut or moulded signatures such as R. LALIQUE or LALIQUE FRANCE, alongside high-definition relief details and blue-tinted light refraction.

An Art Deco opalescent bowl functions effectively as a focal point on a dark sideboard, marble counter, or glass coffee table where light source positioning highlights its optical depth.

Clean antique glass using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, wiping gently with a soft microfibre cloth while avoiding extreme temperature shifts to prevent thermal cracking.
