Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Clock garnitures originated in France during the 19th century and reached peak popularity in the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 1930s. These sets were crafted as decorative ensembles featuring a central clock flanked by two matching ornaments to adorn fireplace mantelpieces and sideboards.

Art Deco garnitures frequently combined contrasting coloured marbles, onyx, alabaster, and spelter or brass castings. The movements were predominantly mechanical brass spring-driven mechanisms with enamel or metal dials.

Authentic pieces feature geometric profiles, heavy marble or onyx slabs, period-appropriate Arabic numerals, and French mechanical movements stamped with maker marks or serial numbers on the back plate.

Position the set centrally on a marble fireplace mantelpiece, a dark wood sideboard, or a console table to serve as a focal point. Balance the strong geometric forms with contemporary artwork or minimalist wall mirrors above.

Dust marble components using a soft, lint-free cloth and clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner avoiding acidic solutions. Metal elements should be wiped gently without harsh abrasives, and mechanical movements require professional lubrication every five to seven years.
