Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The cabinets are finished in downpipe grey with a clear wax coating and slight distressing, complemented by white marble tops and small gold-coloured brass hardware. Measuring 85 cm high, 42 cm wide and 42 cm deep, these bedside tables are suitable for placement alongside a bed in a bedroom. They provide functional surface space and storage while adding a classic French aesthetic to interior spaces.

FAQs

Louis XV style bedside cabinets, often referred to as tables de chevet, are defined by asymmetrical curves, slender cabriole legs, carved motifs, and frequently feature inset marble tops with single drawers and lower cupboards.

These cabinets are traditionally constructed from hardwoods such as oak, beech, or fruitwood, fitted with shaped marble slab tops, and adorned with cast brass or bronze handles and escutcheons.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut dovetail drawer joinery, original marble tops cut to fit the specific cabinet contours, hand-carved floral or scroll embellishments, and authentic wear to the interior timber.

Pair painted French cabinets with contemporary linen bedding, modern table lamps, and muted wall paint colours to create a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and minimalist modern aesthetics.

Clean marble tops using a pH-neutral cleaner to prevent etching, and wipe painted wood surfaces gently with a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads.
