A large Victorian water or Whisky carafe dating to the late 19th century.
It has a wide poring rim with slice cuts down the neck. Acid etched on the front are the words "John Haig & Co OLD MALT WHISKY". Large polished pontil.
Probably used in the board room, it is a superb example of late 19th century advertising for one of the great historic Scottish Whisky distillers who's Haig brand dates back to the 18th century and is still used today.

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear with only minor residue at the base.
