Kutani porcelain is a style of Japanese ceramic art originating from Kaga Province, modern-day Ishikawa Prefecture. During the Meiji period (18681912), Kutani ware gained international recognition for its vibrant polychrome enamel decoration, intricate brushwork, and characteristic iron-red and gold palette designed for export.
