A most attractive 19th century mahogany single-door cupboard in the form of a small chest of drawers. It retains all of its original turned knob handles and turned mahogany feet. It has a couple of shrinkage lines - one on the top and one on the top dummy drawer - as per the photo images - but these do not detract from the overall look and function of the piece itself. This beautiful commode chest is English and it dates from c.1860s and could be used as a bedside cupboard, a housing for hi-fi, or as a drinks cabinet.
