Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Favrile glass is a type of handmade art glass patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894. It is distinguished by its iridescent metallic lustre, achieved by treating molten glass with metal oxides.

Favrile glass was created by manipulating molten glass and exposing it to chemical vapours or metal salts while red-hot, allowing the iridescent lustre to penetrate the glass rather than remaining a surface coating.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-etched or engraved inscriptions on the underside base, such as L.C.T. or L.C. Tiffany Favrile, alongside characteristic Pontil marks and smooth weight distribution.

Place art glass near natural light sources, such as a window sill or illuminated shelving, where the changing light highlights the surface iridescence and organic contouring without cluttering the display.

Clean art glass gently using lukewarm water and mild dish soap with a soft microfiber cloth, avoiding harsh abrasives or extreme temperature changes that could cause thermal shock.
