Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This cocktail drinks cabinet dates from the 1930 Queen Anne Revival period, rendered in warm brown burr walnut veneer with crossbanded edges and brass hardware. The upper section comprises a lift-up hinged top and a drop-front door, while the lower cabinet contains two cupboard doors with a central keyhole escutcheon. Below the doors sits a decorative carved and scroll apron between cabriole legs with carved detail at the knees. The upper drop-front door features a round keyhole escutcheon, and a carved decorative moulding runs horizontally between the upper and lower sections. The cabinet stands 119.4 cm high, 94 cm wide, and 45.7 cm deep. In a contemporary interior, it functions as a statement piece in a dining room, living room, or home bar for serving drinks and displaying glassware.

FAQs

Popularised during the 1920s and 1930s, cocktail cabinets became iconic entertaining pieces designed to house spirits, glassware, and mixing accessories in domestic settings.

These cabinets typically feature burr walnut veneers applied over solid timber frames, often paired with hand-carved cabriole legs, brass hardware, and internal shelving.

Authentic period pieces feature genuine burr walnut figure patterns, dovetail joinery on internal drawers, original brass lock mechanisms, and period-accurate leg carving such as shell or acanthus details.

Position the cabinet against a wall in a dining room or living space, pairing its warm wood tones with glass barware and subtle decorative accents.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent veneer damage or colour fading, applying a neutral beeswax polish along the grain twice yearly for protection.
