Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Bracket clocks originated in the 17th century in England, designed originally to sit on a wall bracket or a piece of furniture to keep domestic time.

They typically feature hardwood carcasses such as rosewood, mahogany, or walnut, often embellished with brass dials, intricate marquetry, and mechanical spring-driven movements.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the hand-cut gears of the mechanical movement, the quality of the wood grain, hand-painted or enamel dials, and period-appropriate joinery and screws.

Place the clock as a focal point on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or bookshelf where its wood tones and classical proportions can contrast against clean, contemporary surfaces.

Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations, handle the movement with care, and have the mechanical components professionally serviced every few years.
