George II Silver Marrow Scoop 1752 Elizabeth Oldfield

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: TJR Trading

This is a George II hallmarked sterling silver marrow scoop. It was assayed in London in 1752 and made by Elizabeth Oldfield (formerly Elizabeth Jackson).

It is double ended and of traditional design. There are engraved initials to the back of the bowl.

It has some evidence of fire stain to the back of the bowl, proving alongside the clear hallmarks that it is a period piece. It appears to have been slightly dented to the tip of the narrow end. Otherwise it is in good order with wear commensurate to its age.

It weighs 62g / 2.01 oz t.
