Antique George I Silver Spoon

Excellent solid silver spoon dating from the reign of George I.
 
It is hallmarked for London 1719. The maker''s mark is understandably worn but it may be for Joseph Smith. In the Hanoverian Rat Tail Pattern, the spoon has a pretty crest on finial.
 
The Britannia Standard was introduced in 1696 and signifies a purer standard of silver than sterling - 95.8% compared to the 92.5% of sterling.
