Welsh oak chest or coffer of a primitive style, with a plain lid with original wrought iron hinges over the box which is joined to tall corner posts. There is a large burn hole at the back of the lid and top of the rear board, no doubt the result of it being used as a seat in an open hearth.
Wonderful original colour and character pitted surface.
