Rose Medallion is a style of Chinese export porcelain produced predominantly during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in Guangzhou. It features central medallions or panels depicting birds, flowers, butterflies, and human figures framed by scrolling vines and floral motifs.

These vases are constructed from kaolin-based porcelain fired at high temperatures, then hand-painted using overglaze enamels known as famille rose. Gilding is applied to raised details, relief figures, and moulded dragons.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples feature hand-painted details with slight variations, rich enamel glazes, and unglazed foot rims showing paste. Earlier pieces lack country-of-origin marks such as CHINA or HONG KONG, which were mandated after 1891.
