This clear Victorian glass dram tumbler dates to the 19th century and exemplifies the practical yet decorative tableware of the period. The object consists of a heavy glass body with a plain, smooth rim leading down into a tapered bowl decorated with repeating bands of moulded oval facets and a raised bubble texture. A thick, polished base anchors the piece firmly at the bottom. The pressed glass construction diffuses light through the exterior pattern while maintaining the solid weight typical of whisky table glass from this era. This example stands 8.3 cm high with a rim diameter of 6.6 cm and a base diameter of 5.2 cm. In a contemporary home, this small dram glass serves well as a decorative display item on a sideboard top or as a functional vessel for spirits during evening gatherings. The clear glass pairs effortlessly with various interior aesthetics, bridging traditional Victorian style with everyday utility. It brings historical character to a drinks cabinet or display shelf without overwhelming surrounding tableware.

A dram tumbler is a small, thick-based glass vessel manufactured during the nineteenth century, intended for serving small measures of spirits such as whisky or gin.

These vessels were typically produced using heavy flint glass, pressed into moulds to form raised surface patterns such as hobnail or thumbprint motifs.

Authentic pieces often exhibit slight mould seam lines, hand-finished rims, subtle irregularities in the glass matrix, and base wear consistent with age.

Small glassware items can be displayed on a drink tray, arranged on a sideboard top, or layered inside a glazed display cabinet alongside period decanters.

Washing by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent is recommended, avoiding mechanical dishwashers and harsh abrasive chemicals.
