This clear lead glass whisky dram glass dates to the mid-18th-century Georgian period of King George II and originates from England. It takes the form of a drawn trumpet bowl sitting above a multi-spiral air twist stem, all supported on a broad conical foot finished with a snapped pontil. The clear colourless glass shows a smooth glossy finish without chips, cracks or restoration. The height measures 12.4 cm, with a rim diameter of 6.7 cm and a foot diameter of 7.3 cm. Today, this antique piece serves as a sophisticated display item on a sideboard top or within a gentleman's library cabinet, offering a tangible connection to mid-1700s social drinking customs. Collectors of historic drinking glasses will find it suits traditional glass cabinets or open shelving dedicated to early English tablewares, bringing authentic period character to interior displays.

Georgian air twist glasses are 18th-century English drinking vessels characterised by internal spiral motifs inside the stem, which were formed by trapping and twisting air channels during manufacture.

Glassmakers pricked air pockets into molten lead crystal, which was then drawn out and twisted to create uniform spiral patterns before attaching the bowl and conical foot.

Authentic pieces feature a snapped pontil mark on the underside of the conical foot, high lead content giving a greyish tint, hand-blown weight variations, and minor inclusions within the glass metal.

Display stemware inside illuminated glazed cabinets, arranged on mirrored trays atop sideboards, or grouped along open shelving to capture natural light through the glass.

Wash glasses individually in lukewarm water using a mild soap, avoid extreme temperature shifts, and dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth.
