This industrial nautical ships bulkhead clock originates from the 1950 period. The piece consists of a round black Bakelite case enclosing a silvered twenty-four-hour dial face with spade hands and a sweep seconds hand. Markings on the dial include Chelsea Clock Co Boston, U.S. Government, and a slow/fast adjuster. The hardware incorporates a hinged bezel with a screw-down side knob and side hinges. It measures 26 cm by 26 cm with a depth of 8 cm. Today, this wall clock suits placement on narrow wall spaces in an industrial loft or maritime-themed room. The twenty-four-hour military dial layout and mechanical design reflect functional naval utility.

A ship bulkhead clock is a timepiece specially engineered for marine environments, mounted directly to vertical bulkheads to maintain reliable timekeeping despite vessel movement and damp conditions.

Maritime clocks are traditionally constructed from heavy-duty brass, bronze, or bakelite cases designed to resist salt air corrosion, paired with glass covers and mechanical movements.

Authentic Chelsea clocks feature clear maker markings on the dial face, serial numbers stamped on the case or movement, heavy cast metal or phenolic housings, and high-precision mechanical inner workings.

A military bulkhead clock can be integrated into an industrial office, hallway, or study as a functional feature alongside dark timber, metal accents, and leather furniture.

Maintain the timepiece by keeping it in a dry indoor environment, dusting the exterior with a soft lint-free cloth, and having the mechanical movement serviced by a qualified horologist periodically.
