Delivery Terms

WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY TO ENGLAND, WALES, AND SCOTLAND (BELOW PERTH)

Shipping /delivery is equally as important to us as the item of furniture itself. It is simple; we deliver everything personally in England / Wales so this way we are 100% sure that the item / furniture reaches our customers safe and sound. We NEVER use couriers. Delivery is generally within 7-14 days of purchase. We guarantee delivery anywhere in England / Wales within 21 days of purchase.

Deliveries to Scotland as far north as Perth are guaranteed within 6 weeks of purchase. If delivery is required above Perth in Scotland please contact James on 07957 392 074 or

james@davidhuntantiques.com for a price.

Deliveries are either carried out by David or James as one member of the team is required to stay in the warehouse, therefore we do require assistance from the van into your hallway with the item of furniture. We have set delivery days and once the van is loaded (a day prior to delivery) David will call customers to arrange a two hour delivery time slot. Customers will also receive a text when delivery is 30 minutes away.

It is really helpful if customers can provide their ‘what3words’ location to make delivery as smooth

as possible, especially properties in rural locations.

Ireland Deliveries

We do use a very good courier company called DVM Service to deliver goods to Ireland. We ask the customer to pay this company direct for the delivery charge and we then liaise with DVM regarding collection of a customer’s item of furniture to be shipped to Ireland.

Europe & Rest of the World

We do not ship to Europe or the Rest of the World.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Georgian antique wardrobe is constructed from solid pine with a warm honey pine finish, bringing a traditional rustic farmhouse aesthetic to any interior. The piece stands on round turned front bun feet and features two large lower drawers with round turned wooden knobs, a graduated cornice at the top, and two tall doors with fielded panels enclosed by edge mouldings. Original metal pin hinges secure the doors, which are accompanied by a key for the lock, while the interior provides adjustable shelving supported by knockdown construction. Measuring 202 cm high, 155 cm wide, and 58 cm deep, this substantial storage item works well in a bedroom or dressing room for hanging garments and storing linens. The durable timber construction and classic profile suit period homes and contemporary spaces alike, offering ample practical capacity for daily clothing organisation.

FAQs

Developed during the Georgian era, a knockdown wardrobe is a large freestanding pine armoire engineered to disassemble easily into flat sections for transport through narrow staircases and doorways.

These pieces are crafted from solid softwood timber such as European pine, using hand-cut dovetail joints, mortise and tenon joinery, raised panel doors, and wooden wedge fixings to allow easy reassembly.

Authentic period examples feature hand-planed timber marks on unexposed rear panels, hand-forged iron hinges, natural wood shrinkage around door mouldings, and traditional internal wedged joint construction.

A stripped pine wardrobe adds warm natural texture to minimalist modern spaces, serving effectively as primary bedroom clothing storage or as a generous linen press in a hallway.

Apply a high-quality beeswax or paste wax regularly using a lint-free cloth to protect the bare wood, buffing along the direction of the grain to build a subtle protective sheen.
