These Victorian champagne coupes bring period character to a modern dining room table or a living room sideboard top. Each piece exhibits a hand-blown profile with a deep teal green shallow bowl resting on a clear drawn stem and a circular foot. The glass shows supporting collars at both the top and the base of the plain stems alongside polished pontil marks on the undersides. The design features a smooth surface finish without carving, mouldings, or decoration. Measuring 12.5 cm high, 9 cm wide, and 9 cm deep, the pair provides a practical serving option for celebrations and gatherings. The English glassware functions well as a traditional bar accessory or as a display item on open shelving. The sturdy bases and balanced proportions ensure stability during use, while the contrasting bowl and stem colours create a distinct visual presentation for serving sparkling wine.

During the nineteenth century, British glassmakers introduced metallic oxides to clear glass batches to create vibrant hues, making coloured bowl stemware popular for formal dining and entertaining.

Victorian stemware was typically hand-blown using lead crystal or soda-lime glass, featuring a coloured bowl fused directly to a clear drawn or applied stem and flat circular base.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples often feature subtle hand-crafting imperfections, pontil marks on the underside of the base, and slight variations in dimensions between paired pieces.

Display these pieces on a polished brass drinks trolley, within a glass-fronted cabinet, or alongside clear vintage decanters to highlight the rich teal tint of the glass.

Hand wash gently in tepid water using mild dishwashing liquid and a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding dishwashers and sudden temperature changes that cause thermal shock.
