Also Antique Furniture has dated this Japanned Chinoiserie Corner Cupboard to the 19th Century.
The pair of doors are decorated in gilt and coloured pigments with an elaborate landscape of figures, buildings, flowering plants and birds, enclosed within gilt borders. Further gilt decoration continues around the sides and upper edge, while the curved bow front gives the cupboard a particularly elegant profile. The doors open to reveal a fitted shelved interior, providing useful storage while retaining relatively compact proportions.

A highly decorative piece of 19th century furniture, particularly effective against a plain wall and well suited to both traditional and more eclectic interiors.

CONDITION
In good overall antique condition, with minor rubbing, marks and losses to the decorated surface commensurate with age and use. There is a small amount of localised historic woodworm. The cupboard retains its lock, although there is no key.

Overall, it presents well and the age-related wear complements its decorative character.
As an antique or vintage piece, signs of age and use should be expected and are part of its character. The photographs form an important part of the description and should be viewed alongside the written condition report.
