Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Fairyland Lustre is a celebrated line of art pottery produced by Wedgwood during the 1910s and 1920s, designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones. It is characterized by fantastical, mythical narrative imagery, vibrant iridescent glazes, and detailed gilt outlining.

These pieces were crafted from fine bone china and coated with specialized metallic oxide glazes. Achieving the iridescent lustre finish required multiple firings at precise temperatures, followed by hand-applied liquid gold highlights.

Authentic pieces feature the standard Wedgwood Portland Vase mark stamped on the base, often accompanied by a specific pattern number starting with the letter Z. The quality of the gilding, depth of iridescent colour, and fine detail in the whimsical figures also indicate authenticity.

Position the vase on a neutral sideboard or within a lighted glass cabinet where directional light can illuminate the metallic glaze. Pairing it with minimalist contemporary decor allows the intricate pattern and rich colour palette to serve as a focal point.

Clean gently using a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid water immersion, abrasive pads, and chemical cleaners, as these can wear down the delicate surface gilding and original lustre glaze over time.
