Clockwise is delighted to present another high quality Scottish Georgian longcase clock. The striking flame mahogany case stands 92 inches (7 feet 9 inches) tall on bracket feet and is crossbanded with ebony inlays throughout, the trunk door retaining its original key and lock. The trunk is flanked by an inset reeded decorative pillar to each side. The elegant swan-neck hood has matching inset reeded pillars and a sound fret to each side. The glorious 13 inch dial is a particular feature of the clock, the spandrels painted with scenes depicting the four seasons and the arch with an interior scene depicting ''Peace and Plenty''. The clock also has both a subsidiary seconds and working date dial. Original stamped and pierced matching brass hands complete the stunning overall effect.The movement is an eight day anchor escapement with a rack strike to sound the hours on a sonorous bell.
