Late Elizabethan Chest / Coffer

Description

A fine late Elizabethan chest in oak. Decorative mouldings to the front and sides with carved top rail and lower section of bottom rail, single panel recessed to the top with surrounding frame. The hinges are original, the lock is lost to time, the interior till remains. Good overall condition, there is a split to the top panel which has three iron repairs to the interior. The chest has a wonderful sun bleached dry patina and is of an attractive smaller size.
