Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A mell decanter is a traditional 19th-century glass vessel characterised by a broad, flattened bulbous body and a long, slender neck, historically used for serving wine or spirits.

These decanters were hand-blown using soda-lime or potash glass, with iron or copper oxides incorporated into the molten batch to produce the distinct green colouration.

Authentic period pieces usually feature a hand-finished pontil mark on the base, slight natural irregularities from hand-blowing, and faint surface wear consistent with age along the base rim.

Place the decanter on a timber sideboard, marble counter, or window sill where natural light can pass through the translucent green glass to highlight its profile.

Hand wash gently using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, or sudden temperature changes that could cause thermal fractures.
