A fine Chelsea porcelain vase with intricately moulded, pierced side handles. Decorated with underglaze blue ground, each side with large shaped reserves, extremely well painted with Wateauesque gallant scenes. Ornamented with fine, ornate gilding and finished with gilt edges and rim. Gold anchor mark, c.1759-1768.

Reference: a very similarly decorated vase is illustrated in Chelsea Porcelain by Adams, fig. 11.21.
It measures 18.8cm (7 3/8'') high, 12.8cm (5'') wide across the handles and 7cm (2 3/4'') deep.
Condition is excellent with no damage, repair or restoration. There is an unusual small area of enamel loss to one reserve, to a patch of greenery to one side of the scene. Minimal handling wear to enamels or gilding. The inside is finely crazed from manufacture.
