A fine and imposing pair of English figured walnut pedestal cabinets, circa 1880, presented in very good condition and displaying exceptional colour and grain throughout.
Each cabinet is of generous proportions, featuring beautifully figured walnut panelled doors enriched with decorative mouldings, carved corbels, and attractive burr walnut veneer.
Designed for practicality, one cabinet is fitted with a single drawer above two pull-out slides, while the other contains a single drawer over a useful cubby-hole storage compartment and a deep cellarette drawer with an inset brass handle.
Raised on plinth bases, the cabinets have a strong architectural presence and would work equally well as pedestal stands, side cabinets, or as part of a larger interior scheme.
A very good quality pair with excellent colour, decorative appeal, and versatile storage.
