Art Nouveau glass emerged in the late 19th century, roughly between 1890 and 1910, characterised by organic forms, fluid lines, and floral motifs inspired by nature.

These pieces were typically crafted using mould-blown or acid-etched glass, often embellished with hand-painted enamel and fitted with metal mounts of brass or gilt bronze.

Authenticity is determined by examining the weight of the glass, the quality of the hand-enamelling, the style of the metal mountings, and often the presence of maker signatures or french control marks.

Placed on a dressing table, mantlepiece, or open shelving, it serves as a sophisticated accent piece that introduces historical texture and colour to contemporary spaces.

Clean gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoid harsh chemical cleaners that can damage the delicate enamel work, and keep out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
