Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This early 20th century rustic Indian storage cupboard is made from reclaimed cedar wood with an iron latch. The piece takes the form of a tall wardrobe with a heavily distressed turquoise blue paint finish over a natural light wood ground, panelled double doors, a tapered frame, and short square feet. The dimensions are 2005 mm high by 965 mm wide by 455 mm deep. Inside, the cupboard provides versatile storage for a bedroom, hallway, or living space to hold clothing, linens, or everyday items. The distressed blue paint and visible natural wood grain give the piece an aged character suited to bohemian and rustic interior schemes. The sturdy iron hardware secures the double doors while adding a functional industrial touch to the front elevation.

FAQs

Traditional Indian cupboards, often crafted from native timbers like cedar or teak, feature sturdy architectural framing, panelled doors, and layered hand-painted finishes that weather distinctively over time.

Reclaimed Indian furniture is primarily constructed using salvaged hardwoods, such as cedar, pine, or teak, held together with traditional joinery and fitted with simple iron latches or handles.

Authentic distressed finishes display uneven paint wear focused on high-contact points, revealing multiple underlying paint coats and patinated wood grain rather than uniform mechanical sanding marks.

A painted timber cupboard serves as a focal accent piece in neutral spaces, adding color, warmth, and organic texture to modern rustic, bohemian, or eclectic interior schemes.

Dust distressed painted surfaces with a soft, dry cloth, avoid water or abrasive cleaners, and position the piece away from direct heat sources to prevent further paint loss.
