Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Art Deco bedside cabinet from 1930 is fashioned from blonde birds eye maple timber with a darker wood plinth base. The piece has a rounded top edge, a small top drawer, and a cupboard door below, accented with faceted glass knobs and subtle vertical wood grain patterns. It stands 66 cm high, 34 cm wide, and 32 cm deep, offering practical storage beside a bed or in an empty corner of a bedroom. Placement suits a modern home as a functional bedside table or a compact storage unit in a hallway or living room. The warm tones and clean geometric lines integrate easily with vintage or contemporary interiors, providing a discreet surface for lamps or nighttime essentials while maintaining a streamlined aesthetic.

FAQs

Art Deco furniture, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric silhouettes, clean streamlined curves, and figurative wood veneers such as birds eye maple and walnut.

Art Deco bedside cabinets were typically constructed with solid timber frames finished in decorative veneers like birds eye maple or mahogany, often accented with glass, Bakelite, or chrome hardware.

Authentic period pieces feature historic joinery, distinctive grain variations in high-grade veneers, original glass or Bakelite handles, and streamlined architectural detailing such as inset plinth bases.

Integrate the piece into a modern interior by pairing warm timber tones with neutral linen bedding, simple ceramic lamps, and subtle geometric textiles to complement its vintage aesthetic.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and keep the cabinet away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent the natural veneer from fading or shrinking.
