Antique Welsh Oak Coffer Bach

Description

A small antique Welsh oak coffer bach of good compact proportions, of traditional plank construction and pleasing simple form. A practical country piece offering useful storage. The coffer features a hinged lid opening to the main storage compartment, with a single drawer below fitted with brass handles. Of neat size, it would work well as a blanket chest, hall chest or occasional storage piece. The oak displays a particularly nice rich colour and patina developed over time, giving the piece plenty of character.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition consistent with age and use. General surface wear including marks, knocks and scratches as expected. There are minor historic repairs to the drawer front, as well as the central top edge and lower left edge of the piece. These are old repairs, well executed and the piece remains solid and sound. The locks are present but no keys. Overall a lovely piece.
