The hinged lid opens to a generous storage interior, making this a practical as well as decorative piece. Raised on stile feet, the coffer has good weight and presence and would work well as a blanket chest or hall piece. A characterful carved oak example with good colour and surface throughout.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition consistent with age and use. There is general surface wear to the front including marks and rubbing to the carved detail. There is some damage to the front corners and minor losses as noted. The hinges are later replacements. There is some loss to the back right corner. Structurally solid overall with good usable storage. A decorative carved oak coffer showing honest age related wear.
