A rare, provincially made triple fusee bracket clock striking the hours on a bell, and the quarters on a nest of six bells. At each quarter, a peal runs down the bells, once on the quarter, twice on the half hour, and so on. 8-day, original verge escapement, with strike/silent on a string on either side of the case, allowing for operation without opening the case door.

7” finely matted brass dial with silvered chapter ring signed John Witherston of Hereford. Crown spandrels, a mock pendulum, and a square calendar box above the 6 o’clock position.

Ebonised case, slightly smaller than standard, with finely cast handle, finials and feet. Glazed side windows, with cast brass, silk-backed sound frets just above the windows. Glazed rear door.
