Georgian Double Series Opaque Twist Wine Goblet

This is a scarce Georgian, English double series opaque twist stem wine goblet dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1765.
 
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
 
 
The glass has a bucket-shaped bowl, a scarcity in such a form, measuring 8.3 cm (3.3 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a double series opaque twist stem consisting of two bands of eight white enamel ''cotton'' strands wound around a central lace twist. The stem ends in a conical foot which measures 9.6 cm (3.8 inches) in diameter. The glass is 18 cm (7.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is a collector''s sticker on the base of the foot.
 
Lead glass weighing in at 375 g. (~ 13 oz.).
