Lovely engraved hands. A fine quality, twin fusee mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. A beautifully engraved backplate to the mechanism signed 'J H Borrell, London' within a cartouche. A glass back door showing the mechanism. Circa 1835.

The Borrell family of clockmakers worked in London in the 18th and 19th centuries. J.H. Borrell is recorded in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working in 1839. This has rear winding which is unusual.
