Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of Sheraton Revival bedside cabinets is constructed from mahogany with warm brown timber tones and satinwood accents. Each slim cabinet stands on square tapered legs and has a single cupboard door fitted with small brass keyhole escutcheons and visible hinges. The door and top surfaces display decorative crossband detail and contrasting boxwood line inlays enclosing a central panel with shaped corners. Measuring 82 cm high, 46 cm wide, and 44.5 cm deep, the cabinets offer compact bedside storage with a flat top surface for a lamp or small ornaments. These versatile antique pieces suit placement beside a bed in a guest room or master bedroom to hold nighttime essentials. They also function well as small lamp tables or side units in a traditional living room or hallway setting. The English country house style blends easily with classic interiors while providing practical enclosed storage behind the panelled cabinet doors. The timber surfaces show an even polished finish across the matched pair.

FAQs

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to avoid fading and timber movement.

Pairing slender mahogany cabinets with contemporary neutral linen bedding creates a balanced aesthetic. Placing subtle modern table lamps on top provides contrast against the rich timber tone and refined marquetry detailing.

Authentic pieces display late Victorian or Edwardian construction techniques, including hand-cut drawer dovetails or period drawer stops, natural timber shrinkage patterns, aged brass hardware, and original lock mechanisms.

Cabinets from this era were constructed using solid mahogany frame work topped with flame mahogany veneers. Decorative stringing and crossbanding were executed using contrasting woods like satinwood, with doors mounted on brass butt hinges.

Sheraton Revival furniture emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, drawing inspiration from Thomas Sheratons late 18th-century neo-classical designs. Pieces typically feature linear forms, slim tapered square legs, refined satinwood or boxwood inlay, and high-quality mahogany veneers.
