A rare and unusual 17th-century metamorphic dug out oak cupboard and drop-down table.
This amazing piece of early furniture has a back section hewn from one solid piece of timber and has a front with a drop-down door and support, which encloses a large storage area. Below this is a small storage cupboard behind a solid oak door with tapering iron hinges. The whole unit is then finished on a pair of stile legs.
A truly wonderful example of early provincial furniture making.
