A Georgian mahogany bracket clock by Thomas Andrews of Dover, dating to the late 18th century. This fine eight-day timepiece features a double fusee movement striking the hours on a bell. The arched silvered dial, measuring 17.5cm, is engraved with Roman numerals, Arabic outer seconds, and a matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, and a strike/silent selector. The dial is signed Andrews, Dover in flowing script. The case is richly figured mahogany with a moulded arched top, brass carrying handle, and cast-brass mounts to the front door. Side panels feature brass fish-scale frets, while the rear door is fitted with a pierced sound fret. The clock stands on brass bracket feet and retains its pendulum and key.
All measurements are done to the widest point .
