Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Cranberry glass is a red-tinted art glass created by adding gold salts or oxide to molten glass to achieve shades ranging from soft pink to deep ruby. It was produced extensively during the 19th century in Britain for decorative tableware and vessel design.

Glassmakers created cranberry glass by fusing gold chloride into clear glass batches during the melting process. Pieces were typically hand-blown and finished with applied clear glass handles, crimped or ruffled rims, and occasionally hand-painted enamel ornamentation.

Authentic 19th-century pieces often feature minor variations in glass thickness, faint air bubbles, and pontil marks on the base. Furthermore, genuine examples usually present applied clear glass elements rather than uniform single-colour moulded construction.

Positioning cranberry glass near natural light sources, such as on a window sill or glass display cabinet, illuminates the translucent red colour. Grouping various vessel shapes together on a sideboard top creates a focused display in both classic and modern interiors.

Wash individual pieces by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding extreme temperature changes to prevent thermal shock. Do not clean antique glass items in automated dishwashers, and dry them thoroughly using a lint-free microfibre cloth.
