Description

A fine and large pair of Flight, Barr and Barr Worcester Porcelain Vases c.1825. The deep U-shaped bowls finely painted, one with an Alpine shepherd holding an alphorn, with mountains visible beyond, the other with a young woman wearing a wide black hat and a pink dress, with a cathedral tower in the distance, applied with entwined serpent handles, raised on socle feet over square bases.

Each urn-shaped vessel takes a deep U-shaped form with hand-painted figurative reserves, white surfaces, and extensive gilding on the scroll handles, rims, and square plinth bases. One vase depicts an Alpine shepherd with mountains, and the other shows a young woman with a cathedral tower in the distance. The pieces stand on socle feet and incorporate beaded borders alongside moulded gilding. Each vase measures 20 cm high.
