Antique Georgian Silver Fish Slice

18th century
Description

This is a beautiful solid sterling silver-bladed fish slice, dating towards the end of the reign of King George III.

It is clearly hallmarked on the underside for London 1816 with the makers' mark of Thomas Wallis (II) & Jonathan Hayne. The bone handle is well-attached and in an excellent condition, as is the silver. There are a few light surface abrasions but nothing that would be unexpected for an item of this age. The bright cut decoration on the slice is wonderful.

Dimensions:

Length: 28cm

Width: 7cm

Height: 2.5cm.

Complimentary gift wrapping is available on request.

Post and packaging are free within the UK. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs and please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
