Description:
They are pedestals from a Victorian dressing table, which have been adapted into bedside chests. Each mahogany bedside chest is designed with elegant round moulded cornered tops; this design is also reflected in the plinths. The pair of Victorian bedside tables comprise four graduated drawers to each unit; the top drawers feature the original working brass lever lock & key. The drawer fronts retain the original turned mahogany knobs and are constructed with top-quality figured mahogany. The drawer linings and bottoms are constructed with fine hand-dovetailed joints; the drawers close flush to the frame and the Victorian pot cupboards stand on their top-quality rounded mahogany plinths. The mahogany bedside chests are constructed of top-quality mahogany timber imported from the British colonies, during the earlier part of the early Victorian period. The quality is reflected in the weight of these bedsides; they are heavy to lift. Ideal for use in the bedroom as bedsides or lamp tables in the living room.

Condition Report:
They are pedestals from a Victorian dressing table, which have been adapted into bedside chests. The mahogany bedside chests have been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. Therefore, the colour and patination of the mahogany is of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and inside the drawer bottoms, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawer fronts retain the original turned knobs and the top drawers retain the original working brass lever locks (with key). The drawers close flush to the frame. The pair of bedside tables stand on their original top-quality rounded mahogany plinths. The frames are constructed of top-quality solid mahogany; which displays a superb colour and patination. The quality is reflected in the weight of these bedsides; they are heavy to lift. They are solid in joint and ready to use.
