This Art Deco statuette is an original piece from the 1920s period, designed in 1925 by René Lalique and catalogued as the Suzanne Deuxieme modèle. The object is made from moulded and frosted glass in a frosted white colour palette, finished with a smooth grey base that has a curved shape at the bottom. The sculpture depicts a female nude figure with outstretched arms holding flowing drapery that cascades down both sides, creating a textured garment effect across the piece. The statuette measures 22 cm high and 20 cm wide. In a modern interior, this piece sits well on top of a sideboard in a living room, dining room or hallway as a decorative display object. The figural sculpture functions as a standalone focal point on flat display surfaces within domestic spaces. The object is compact enough to fit comfortably on shelves, cabinets or mantels while maintaining visibility of the detailed glass work.

Popularised in the 1920s and 1930s, frosted art glass statuettes feature stylised figures and fluid drapery, exemplifying the sleek aesthetics of the Art Deco movement.

These objects were typically crafted using press-moulded glass techniques, often finished with acid-etching or satin-finishing to create a soft, frosted surface texture.

Authentic period pieces generally bear an etched or moulded mark such as R. LALIQUE or Lalique France, featuring smooth hand-finished mould seams and crisp detail quality.

Position the piece on a polished sideboard, mantelpiece, or glass shelving near a directional light source to highlight its translucent texture and sculptural silhouette.

Dust gently with a soft microfibre cloth and wash occasionally in tepid water with mild dish detergent, avoiding harsh chemical solvents or abrasive sponges.
