The Georgian era encompasses British design from 1714 to 1830, characterised by classical proportions, heavy lead crystal production, and functional elegance tailored for dining and entertaining.

These pieces were typically crafted from blown lead glass or flint glass, shaped by hand with applied neck rings and hand-cut or polished stoppers.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor surface wear or scratches consistent with age, slightly uneven hand-blown characteristics, and heavy, high-clarity metal content.

Displaying vintage decanters on open shelving, sideboards, or bar carts adds reflective surfaces and historic texture that contrasts well with contemporary minimalism.

Wash items gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, harsh chemicals, or soaking to protect the original surface finish and stoppers.
