We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Tray top bedside cabinets gained popularity during the Georgian and Victorian periods, designed to prevent items from rolling off the surface while providing discreet bedside storage.

These cabinets were typically constructed from solid hardwoods like mahogany, walnut, or oak, featuring traditional joinery such as dovetail drawers and hand-carved detailing.

Authentication relies on examining timber ageing, hand-cut dovetails, traditional tool marks, period-appropriate hardware, and natural wear patterns consistent with age.

Pairing the dark wood piece with minimalist lamps and neutral modern wall colours creates a balanced contrast that highlights the craftsmanship without overwhelming the space.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate microcrystalline wax.
